In this video clip I showing how to use the watercolor in a different way, leaving several white spaces – letting the white of the paper be exposed, and paint only the main focus of the composition by using dry strokes of watercolor combined with some wet on wet washes. The effects are soft, and delicate, perfect for a painting of a ballerina. See video and picture below:

When we do this kind of painting, it is a fine – and actually, a good idea that the watercolor pencil/or, any other pencil used to draw the content of the composition can be see. And, this is only possible with watercolor, which is a transparent medium. The visible lines became part of the final effects in the painting.
